This summer has been one for the books. I’ve celebrated my birthday, weddings for dear friends, traveled throughout my home state of California this July and August for personal adventure and have loved it. Still, summer has to go out with a bang, right? Yeah, I thought so too. So my friends and I decided to hop on over to Lake Tahoe, Nevada for some fun with friends. The road trip was intense and I’ll be honest, I never want to sit in a long car ride for awhile. However, I can not communicate the joy I carry, the feeling I felt whilst stargazing in the middle of nowhere and the memories made with the dearly loved friends who joined us from Reno, San Jose and San Fransisco.
We hardly had reception, which always proves to be helpful in relationship building. Before we knew it, good ol’ games and jokes around the campfire were had. It eased everyone as we were able to just focus on the here and now. Why don’t I allow myself to do this more? Goodness. Anyways, by the end of the trip, it’s rather funny how quickly we all felt like family and how bittersweet it was to pack up our cars and drive in different directions. Though our friendship may be at a distance, it will deepen over time, and well, there’s nothing a ridiculous group text filled with bitmoji’s and GIFs can’t fix.
Although my words couldn’t paint the picture of every moment, every laugh and every chill in my body late at night in the cold weather. I can genuinely say that I will carry this quick weekender trip in my heart. To my camping crew: You guys are the best.
And now, photos by yours truly. xx
